The Father of a 1 year old child who went into cardiac arrest Monday, brought on by a fentanyl overdose, is wanted out of Laurens County.
Police say Tyrist Johnson is dangerous, wanted on numerous charges, including fentanyl possession, and may be armed.
Police were called to a home on Gray Street Monday. Inside they found the child sweating and showing signs of distress. The 1 year old did test positive for fentanyl at the hospital. Officers also found approximately 1 gram of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and ammunition.
The child's mother, Naja Simpson, is charged with unlawful neglect of a child and others. Two other children in the home, 5 and 6, are in the care of the Department of Social Services.
