The sheriff wishes the people of Spartanburg County "a safe, drug-free summer"...and issues a warning to dealers. Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright says the roundup of seventeen accused drug dealers and warrants out for 22 more stems from a year-long undercover investigation he calls "just the beginning."
In a media release the sheriff concedes the 39 cases involving meth, heroin and marijuana -- some dealers charged with operating near parks and schools -- amounts to "scratching the surface," saying "there's plenty more, and we're going to try to get them." He warns those not included in the latest dragnet, "If you're dealing drugs, don't think you've gotten away with it yet."
