For the 2nd time in less than a week the Gaffney area has seen a fatal train crash. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler identified the deceased as 25 year old, Venson Minatee of Gaffney.
The crash happened around 4AM Tuesday morning. The Coroner's report says Minatee was reportedly lying between the rails of the track about a hundred yards north of the 6th street crossing.
This fatal train wreck comes just days after 43 year old, Furman Edward Henderson Jr. was hit and killed by a Norfolk Southern freight train, Saturday night.
An autopsy is set to be performed on Minatee. The incident remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Coroner's Office.
