A baby has died after a crash involving 10 vehicles in Anderson County, yesterday afternoon.
The Coroner's Office says the crash happened on Highway 29. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the crash happened when a pick-up truck and a sedan stopped due to construction. A cement truck then crashed into the sedan which hit the pickup and caused a chain reaction and massive pile-up.
The driver of the sedan was transported to the hospital and the infant was airlifted to the hospital, where they later died. The Coroner's Office has identified the victim was 3 month old Jakai Govan.
The Coroner's preliminary report says the baby was restrained in a car seat. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says charged will be filed from the crash.
