
An area university is set to cut the ribbon on a new addition. USC-Upstate has announced the unveiling of a new 1,600 square foot gaming arena on campus. The center is set to serve as the home of the school's new esports program. The gaming arena will be housed in the school's health education complex.

The school started esports as a club activity this spring and is set to launch a varsity program this coming fall. USC-Upstate is a member of the Big South Conference in other sports and their conference mates are exploring the development of an informal conference championship competition in esports. The ribbon cutting ceremony is set for 1 PM tomorrow (Friday) at the USC-Upstate Health Education Complex.
