
The suspect in an attempted robbery at a gas station in Western North Carolina, is in custody. The Asheville Police Department responded to a panic alarm at the gas station on Merrimon Avenue, just before 11 PM Saturday night.
Employees told officers while they were closing the store, the suspect flashed a gun and tried to enter. Police say the suspect, Adrian Gabriel Vaughn left the scene, then returned but fled again once he saw police on the scene.
Vaughn tried to evade arrest but was located and taken into custody after reportedly trying to dump the gun. Vaughn is charged with assault with a deadly weapons, attempted armed robbery, resisting arrest, and a weapons violation.
