A suspect is now in custody after a fatal shooting at an Upstate hotel, Monday night. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says, 46 year old Keith Anthony Jones of Spartanburg faces charges of murder and a weapons violation following the incident at the Red Roof Inn on Pottery Road.
Deputies responded to a reported shooting there around 730 last (Monday) night and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to Spartanburg Regional Hospital, where she later died. The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 49 year old, Venecia Miranda Woodruff of Spartanburg. Investigators say, the murder weapon was recovered. There's been no word on the motive or what led to the shooting.
