Deputies with Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a house fire resulting from an explosion on Pine Drive in Piedmont. Greenville County Communications received a 911 phone call around 11:00 PM Sunday after a fire was reported with multiple people trapped inside the residence.
Fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze and everyone made it our safely. One individual was transported to the hospital due to smoke inhalation and related injuries.
A person of interest was found on the back side of the property with multiple injuries and was taken to a hospital. During the investigation, it was discovered the suspect is also wanted out of Simpsonville for attempted murder charges. The name of the person of interest has not been released.
