Should parents/guardians automatically be charged when children find guns and shoot themselves or someone else?

Recently, there has been two incidents in South Carolina in which children found guns and shot themselves. In Easley, a 4 year old found a gun and fired it resulting in the child suffering a minor injury. SLED is looking into an incident in which a child in Newberry County suffered a serious gunshot wound to the torso. In that incident, the child reportedly found a gun in an unlocked box in his parents bedroom. There are instances in which parents or guardians have been charged in this type of incidents, but should charges for parents/guardians be automatic in these situations? Let us know below.
