The baby has been recovered, but the suspect in a vehicle theft and kidnapping Friday morning, remains at large. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says, the Amber Alert is now cancelled after the 8 month old baby-girl has been recovered. The baby was inside a vehicle that was stolen in the early morning hours from the QT on White Horse and Grove Roads.

The father of the child had left the baby in the car, while he went inside the store. Sheriff's Office Lt. Ryan Flood says, they received a call around 7AM stating that the baby was found in front of a business on Garlington Road in Greenville about 10 miles from where the car was stolen. Investigators later learned the baby had been dropped off there in her car seat a few hours earlier. The baby is said to be doing okay and was not believed to have been injured, she was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
After her safe recovery, Sheriff Hobart Lewis praised his deputies and the community for their swift response. He also warned parents not to leave children unattended in a vehicle, especially with the engine running. This is the 2nd incident of its kind in Greenville County this week.
The Sheriff's Office says, the suspect is still at large in the stolen vehicle, a black 2013 Nissan Atlima with a dealer tag from Number One Auto Sales. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers at 23-Crime. A photo of the suspect can be seen on our website, 106.3 WORD. Com
