Belton Police Chief J. Ross Richey is leaving to take a job with the Anderson Police Department. Richey has been Belton's police chief since July 2021.
His Facebook resignation message reads in part: "I wanted to change the perception and reputation of the Belton Police Department for the better...I could not have done it without the hard work, commitment and dedication of the officers who entrusted me to serve this community."
