WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden said Wednesday he will withdraw remaining U.S. troops from the “forever war” in Afghanistan, declaring that the Sept. 11 terror attacks of 20 years ago cannot justify American forces still dying in the nation’s longest war.
The President says that after twenty years, the U.S. has achieved its initial goals of disabling Al Qaeda and making Afghanistan less of a safe haven for terrorists.
Senator Lindsey Graham Strongly disagreed with President Biden during a news conference following the President's announcement.
Graham and other critics worry that the same thing will happen that happened in Iraq when American troops pulled out and Isis formed to fill the vacuum created by the absence of American troops.
So we want to hear from you: Do you agree with President Biden's plan to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan?
