Governor McMaster has signed a bill for a project agreement to bring to an electric vehicle manufacturer to the state, The Governor was joined by state legislators and executives from Scout Motors at the Statehouse for the ceremony, Monday morning.

The signing officially welcomes Scout Motors and their plan to establish a plant in the Midlands. The state has voted to allocate 1.3 billion dollars in incentives for the partnerships. That's something some state lawmakers like District 20 Representative Adam Morgan opposes.

Morgan appeared on The Tara Show earlier this month, to vent his displeasure with the plan. However, a majority of other house members voted in favor of the deal and feel it will bolster economic growth.

The incentive package is similar to what neighboring states like Georgia and North Carolina have offered other auto makers in recent months.
