A biological man who identified as a woman has been found dead in the Midlands after being reported missing. 20 year old Shandon Floyd was reported missing in Richland County last Thursday after borrowing a friend's car.
Floyd's body was found just after 12AM Wednesday on Two Notch Road in Columbia. The Richland County Coroners Office confirmed that Floyd was a biological male that identified as a transgender woman.
The Coroner's Office also said that there were no apparent signs of foul play found in the initial investigation. Floyd was reportedly visiting Columbia from Florence and was staying at a motel. Floyd's body was found about 10 miles from the motel.
While no foul play was initially evident, WIS TV in Columbia reports that a woman who works nearby says she noticed a strange car being parked in the area for a few days leading up to Floyd's death.
An autopsy has been performed to determine the cause of death, results are still pending at this time.
