The body of a missing child has been recovered from a river in North Carolina over the weekend. Rescue crews pulled the body of a 10 year old girl from the Broad River Greenway in Cleveland County, Sunday.
Officials say, the girl had gone missing in the Gaffney area Saturday. Kim Duren, the Executive Director of Broad River Greenway issued a statement saying " The loss of a young life is always profoundly tragic. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the young girl during this difficult time".
The girls' identity has not yet been released. This marks the 1st drowning at Broad River Greenway in three years and the fourth since 1997.
