A man who's body was found in Lake Hartwell Monday night has been identified, as a Doctor from the Upstate. Deputies from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and other emergency responders were dispatched to a private dock on Midlake Heights Drive in Anderson, around 8 PM.
Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered a man's body in the lake near the dock. The coroner's office identified the deceased as 65 year old, Dr. Marshall Meadors III of Anderson.
The initial investigation determined he died from drowning, but was also possibly electrocuted. Exposed wires were found on an electrical box that powered the dock. Officials believe that the doctor was swimming at the dock and suffered electrical shock.
His death remains under investigation by the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and Anderson County Coroner's Office.
