Brothers verbal blows turned violent in Wellford...
On Friday, October 4, 2024, Deputies were called to a shooting at a home on Gibbs Road around 9:30pm. The victim, who had been shot twice, was sent to the hospital. Deputies interviewed a suspect and witnesses at the Sheriff's Office where they learned a verbal altercation between brothers escalated to shots fired.
The suspect, 18 year old Matthias Anthony Edens, attempted to make a self defense argument, but the evidence at the scene didn't support his claim.
Edens has been charged with Attempted Murder. He remains behind bars. The victim, Edens brother, is expected to make a full recovery.
