A career criminal from the Upstate will spend the next decade and a half behind bars.
The 7th Circuit Solicitor's Office says , 32 year old Jacob Ryan Mims pleaded guilty Thursday to intent to distribute meth 2nd offense, 1st degree assault, escape, forgery and multiple traffic offenses.
The charges stem from a 2022 incident in which Mims led Spartanburg County Deputies on a high speed chase. Deputies called off the chase due to dangerous conditions. They later found the vehicle crashed into a tree, but Mims had fled on foot.
Eventually, Mims was located and was found with a large amount of meth in a stolen vehicle. His prior criminal history includes convictions for burglary, multiple counts of assault, meth possession, breaking into a vehicle and other charges.
