Charges have been upgraded for a suspect following the death of his child. As we previously reported, both Michael Shane Blackwell and Sheila Marie Raynor were arrested following the death of their 7 week old child in Oconee County Monday.
After the baby was found unresponsive, a search of their Seneca home turned up various drugs. They both were arrested for unlawful neglect and multiple drug charges.

On Thursday, The Oconee County Sheriff's Office announced that Blackwell has now been charged with homicide by child abuse. Both Raynor and Blackwell are being held at the Oconee County Detention Center.
