A young child is said to be in critical condition after being shot at a Western North Carolina church. The Burke County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a gunshot wound around 830 Sunday night at River Valley Baptist Church in Morganton.
The victim, a 2 year old boy was shot in the head accidentally. He was airlifted to a hospital in Charlotte.
WBTV in Charlotte says, the gun belonged to the pastor of the church and the victim is his son. The pastor reportedly told them that one of his sons got the weapon from the back of his van and inadvertently shot the two year old.
