A U.S. Congressman from the Upstate is speaking out against the January 6th Committee. 3rd District Congressman Jeff Duncan had some choice words following the house panel deciding to refer former President Donald Trump for possible prosecution by the Department of Justice.
The panel is made up of 9 people, 7 Democrats and 2 Republicans , who voted unanimously to refer Trump to the DOJ. The committee says, Trump obstructed an official proceeding, conspired to defraud the United States and make false statements and incited an insurrection.
Duncan responded by saying " The January 6th Committee is nothing more than an illegitimate kangaroo court. Anything they say or do is unserious and should be ignored"
