Construction on a major addition to the Upstate manufacturing community is underway. BMW says work on its battery assembly plant in Woodruff has started.
BMW management joined City of Woodruff and Spartanburg County officials for the ceremonial signing of the 1st beam for the new construction last week.
The Woodruff location is set to supply batteries for BMW's Plant Spartanburg. The company says by 2030, they plan to be building at least 6 fully electric vehicles in the United States.
