A convicted midlands murderer released 16 years early has been arrested in New York after an 11-week manhunt. Jeroid Price was originally sentenced to 35 years in prison after being found guilty in the 2003 murder of former Gamecock Football player Carl Smalls Jr. at a Columbia night club.
In March, a now-retired Circuit Court Judge released Price early, a decision that was overturned by the state Supreme Court in late April.Since that decision was overturned 11 weeks ago, authorities have been searching for Price.
When appearing on Fox News, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson explained details surrounding Price's arrest this week in New York City. SLED says Price is set to be extradited back to South Carolina.
