Two events are scheduled later this year, to raise money for the family of Corporal Lucas Watts.
Watts, a deputy with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, was shot in the head during an attempted traffic stop on November 16, 2023. Today, he's still in the hospital in Georgia, rehabilitating.
On Friday May 3rd, a BBQ will be held at Earl's Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center in Westminster at 6pm. $15 per plate. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw will speak.
Then on Saturday October 5th, a night of music is scheduled at the Walhalla Performing Arts Center at 7pm, hosted by Jimmy Watt. Musical acts include The Warcry Band and the Greg Parrish Band. Tickets are on sale now.
All proceeds raised at both events will go the family of Corporal Lucas Watts. For more information visit the Oconee County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page.
