A weekend house fire in North Georgia has left one person dead. Firefighters responded to a fire at a home on Hester Road in Elberton just before 2AM, Sunday.
When firefighters arrived, a body was found inside the house. The body of the deceased has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Atlanta. The identity of the deceased has not been released, as of this time.
The incident remains under investigation by state and local authorities.
