The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office is investigating an inmate death at a Spartanburg County prison.
According to the Coroner’s Office, the death happened around 12:30pm at Tyger River Correctional Institution in Enoree, Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Jessie Donald Curtis Tyner of Cross Anchor.
As of the time of this report, the Coroner's Office does not believe the death to be suspicious. Tyner was serving a 10 year sentence for drug trafficking and assault and battery, incarcerated in 2020.
A forensic exam is scheduled for Wednesday.
