A recent Upstate shooting that left a teenager dead has brought his father's unsolved murder more than 15 years ago back to forefront. Last Saturday, 17 year old Calvin Lamont Parker Jr. was fatally shot at the Ware Shoals Dragway.
The teenagers death comes after his father Calvin Parker Sr. was shot to death at his Greenwood home in 2006. Greenwood's current Police Chief was a lieutenant in the department at the time Parker Sr. was shot to death.
He says before the man died he told investigators that two unknown men knocked on his door and when he opened it, one of them shot him and they both fled on foot.
A witness told police that they heard a gunshot and was two men running towards a silver sedan. Parker Senior was killed just days before his son's birth.
