America's wealthier residents need to step up to the plate and do their part in keeping the U.S. afloat. That's according to Senator Elizabeth Warren, who on Monday introduced a bill that calls for an extra 2 percent annual tax on people with a net worth of $50 million to $1 billion. Everyone who's worth more than that would be taxed an extra 3 percent, according to the legislation. "As Congress develops additional plans to help our economy, the wealth tax should be at the top of the list to help pay for these plans because of the huge amounts of revenue it would generate," Warren says. "This is money that should be invested in child care and early education, K-12, infrastructure, all of which are priorities of President Biden and Democrats in Congress."
