An Upstate based activism group is looking to make changes that they feel would increase gun safety. Fighting Injustice Together or FIT will be proposing a bill later this week, that would require gun owners to secure handguns out of the reach of children, when children are in the home. The proposed bill comes after two Upstate children were accidentally shot by unsecured guns. In October, 4 year old Kingston Barksdale was shot and killed by an unsecured handgun. The bill titled the Kingston Act is named in his honor. So we want to hear from you- Does South Carolina need more stringent gun safety laws?
