An Upstate man will spend more than 15 years behind bars after what police say was an alcohol fueled fatal crash, four years ago.
The Greenville Police Department responded in May of 2021 to a crash on I-385 near Exit 41. Officers arrived and arrested the suspect driver Ryan Edward Bishop.
One person was killed and another was severely injured. Bishop pleaded guilty to fatal DUI charges after police said his blood alcohol content was .10 (legal limit is .08).
Bishop was also driving with a suspended license. He has been sentenced to 17 years in state prison.
