As South Carolinian budgets are already navigated by higher gas prices and food costs, there's one more possible rate hike coming that could really throw budgets for a loop....
The Public Service Commission of South Carolina is set to journey to across the state in April and May to hear from Duke Energy customers. The Commission will host a series of public hearings on the Utility Company's request to increase electric rates, adjustments in electric rate schedules and tariffs, and a request for an accounting order.
The public hearings are scheduled as follows, pre-registration required:
April 8, 2024 - Greenville - Wade Hampton High School; 6pm
April 11, 2024 - Greenwood - Greenwood 50 Performing Arts Center; 6pm
April 16, 2024 - Seneca - Seneca High School; 6pm
April 22, 2024 - Anderson - Anderson County Council Chambers; 6pm
April 23, 2024 - Spartanburg - Spartanburg County Council Chambers; 6pm
April 25, 2024 - Lancaster - Lancaster County Council Chambers; 6pm
May 20, 2024 - Columbia - 101 Executive Center Drive; 5p-9p (virtual or in-person)
