
Hurricane Ian, now downgraded to a post tropical storm has adversely impacted thousands on the state's coast line. Ian made landfall in South Carolina, as a Category 1 Hurricane Friday afternoon. Duke Energy reports that over 850,000 thousand customers in the Carolina's were without power during the storm.

As of Saturday afternoon, Duke crews had restored power to power to a half a million customers. The company, says they have mobilized crews to respond to the hardest hit areas in both North and South Carolina. In another reported weekend outage, thousands in one Upstate City were without power for a period of time.
Over 2,000 Duke customers in the downtown Greenville area were without power early Saturday morning. The cause of that outage was unspecified, but power was restored there later in the day.
On Sunday afternoon, Laurens Electric Co-Op reported that over 100 of its customers in Greenville County were without power. About an hour later their outage map showed power had been restored for around 50 of their customers.
