
Duke Energy says that their crews have been working tirelessly to restore power to customers across the Carolinas. The Energy giant says they have restored power to a quarter million customers across North and South Carolina. Duke said as of Monday evening that 24,000 of its customers remained without power.

They expect to restore power to many customers on Tuesday. Duke says that customers in the North Carolina Mountains and Southern Pines areas won't be restored until late Tuesday. Duke says That Greenwood, Laurens, Oconee, and Pickens are among the hardest hit counties in the state.
