A U.S. Congressman from the Upstate is appluading the Supreme Court's ruling in the case of 303 Creative vs Elenis. The high court ruled to strike down Colorado's state law that 3rd District Representative Jeff Duncan said "forces speech".

Duncan's statement on the matter read "
" The First Amendment is designed to protect people of faith’s ability to live out their beliefs in their day-to-day lives. This ruling reaffirms that the government has no right to coerce anyone to violate a deeply held religious beliefs"

However, some groups were not happy with the Supreme Court's decision. In a statement, Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber Of Commerce said the ruling allows business to discriminate against their community.

Tyler Prescott the group's CEO said " "We are profoundly disheartened by this Supreme Court decision, which stands contrary to the principles of inclusion, fairness, and respect we champion in our community. This ruling can potentially create an environment where discrimination can be justified under the guise of personal beliefs, which is deeply troubling."
