An elderly Upstate man is in custody after he allegedly shot members of his family. As we previously reported, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting on Motorboat Club Road in Greenville, Thursday afternoon.
Deputies arrived and found two women suffering from gunshot wounds; they were both transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Sheriff's Office now says that 80 year old James Gatewood has been arrested in the case.
Investigators report that Gatewood shot the victims after a domestic dispute. A 3rd victim suffered minor injuries trying to take the gun from Gatewood.
All three victims are said to be related to the suspect, and all three are expected to make a full recovery. Gatewood faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and multiple weapons violations.
