The parents of Jamari Jackson, the sixth grader fatally wounded two years ago at Greenville County's Tanglewood Middle School, is suing the accused shooter's family.
A family court judge ruled late last month that the accused murderer, Jordan Williams, who's now 14, will be tried as an adult. The Greenville News reports Jackson's parents are suing Williams' father of for illegally possessing and failing to secure the gun.
The family is also suing Tekoa Williams, the youngster's aunt, for negligence in allowing the gun into the house.
The lawsuit alleges that the Williams' father was negligent in obtaining the firearm from his sister, unlawfully possessing a firearm and not safely securing the firearm where it would have been inaccessible to his son.
