What was expected to be a weekend of family fun took a turn for the worse after fights broke out at the Anderson County fair, Saturday. Officers from the Anderson Police Department that were working security at the fair responded to a fight involving multiple juveniles.
That incident then sparked a larger fight. The officer then called for back up from Anderson County Sheriff's Deputies. Several juveniles and one adult, identified as Braylon Pickens were arrested after the fight. The juveniles were escorted off the fairgrounds and were picked by parents.
Pickens was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. The fair was shut down while officers and deputies restored order. The fair then enforced a policy that did not allow anyone under 17 to enter without a parent. The annual event finished up under those pretenses Sunday.
