The Rock Hill Fire Department is mourning the loss of on its own. The Department says Firefighter/Paramedic, David Campbell was killed in a crash just days before Christmas.
The Highway Patrol says, Campbell's truck hit a tree in the roadway on Highway 49 in York County, just before 7 AM Friday morning. Campbell was on his way to work at the Rock Hill Fire Department when the collision occurred. Firefighters escorted Campbell's body to Chester County, late Friday evening.
Rock Hill Fire Chief Mac Thomas released a statement on social media Friday saying " I can’t begin to express the sorrow and loss we have felt. ” “David made such an impact on each of us and we will always cherish those memories and good times. He loved telling us stories about Mandy and the kids. Our hearts break for them and we feel blessed that they shared him with us".
