A City-of-Williamston firefighter is recovering from what was described as a minor injury fighting a multi-alarm blaze at the Milliken Plant Monday night. The fire broke out in the air conditioning system in a part of the plant fronting on Gosset Drive.
The city's Facebook page says West Pelzer firefighters also responded to the alarm just before 6:00 p.m., and other Anderson County units were on standby. The blaze was confined to an rooftop exhaust duct but it was stubborn enough to keep firefighters on the scene all night guarding against flareups. The firefighter who had been hurt in a fall was treated and released from the hospital.
