Reducing fitness barriers. Prisma Health opens new wellness center.

Community members will find in the heart of downtown Greenville's Unity Park, the doors have opened to the Roger C. Peace Adaptive Sports and Wellness Center located on Wellborn Street. Thursday's grand opening, August 22, 2024, provides those with physical limitations, to stay active.

The 9,000 square foot facility boasts a number of programs including adaptive yoga, fitness and strength training classes, High-tech outpatient physical, occupational and recreational therapy and Peer support programs.

The $2.3M center was funded almost entirely by community grants and support. The initiative began as a collaboration between Prisma Health Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital and NOTUS Sports, supported by a Greenville Health Authority grant of $750,000.
