The main reasons for the resignation of the President of an Upstate university has now come to light. As we previously reported, Steve Petit tendered his resignation letter as President at Bob Jones University, in late March.

In the letter, Petit cited issues with the University's Board Chairman, Dr. John Lewis. Petit accused Lewis of impeding an investigation by the school's Title IX Coordinator.

He also cited dysfunction by the board since Lewis became Chairman. Petit gave an ultimatum in the letter that Lewis resign as Chairman, which has not happened.

Petit had served as President at BJU since 2014. His resignation came just over 4 months after he signed a three year contract.
