A former employee at an Upstate hospital is facing charges after being accused of stealing from two different patients.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a woman reported that, while her mother was a patient at Mary Black Hospital, an employee coerced her to send them money on PayPal. One transfer was said to be for over 300 dollars, and a 2nd attempted transfer of over $500 was unsuccessful. The Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as 28 year old Jasmin Streeter.
Investigators say a report from a 2nd patient was filed that same day. In that incident, the patient's phone was reportedly stolen by Streeter, and she used it to fraudulently order over $600 worth of merchandise from Amazon.
Streeter was fired from the hospital. She faces identity fraud, exploitation of a vulnerable adult and multiple other charges.
