A former detention center officer at an Upstate jail is charged with having a sexual relationship with an inmate. 58 year old, Chester Pierce Ouzts is facing charges of 1st degree sexual misconduct with an inmate and misconduct in office.

Warrants from SLED say, Ouzts had a relationship with a female inmate from October of last year to January of this year. He was placed on administrative leave in January and terminated three weeks later, after being employed by the Pickens County Sheriff's Office since 2018. He was arrested by SLED last Friday and has since been released on bond. A photo of Ouzts is below.
