A former employee of an Upstate school district is facing charges after allegedly having sexual contact with a teenage girl. 74 year old, Windell Sutton Powell Jr. of Seneca, a former bus driver for the School District Of Oconee County was arrested Tuesday night.
He faces charges of 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct With A Minor, 2 counts of the same crime in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Solicitation Of A Minor. The investigation was launched after a family member of the teen girl discovered text messages between the two that indicated a sexual relationship.
Investigators say, that Powell sexually assaulted the girl starting in November of last year and as recently as this week. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says it will not release what specific school Powell drove a bus for, as it could potentially identify the victim.
