A former deputy and school board member in the Upstate has been indicted on child sex crime charges. An Anderson County grand jury has returned indictments against former Sheriff's Office Deputy Gregg Hayden.
He is charged with 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, two counts of misconduct in office and two counts of a lewd act with a child under 16 years of age. Hayden turned himself in last year.
Court records show the alleged offenses started as far back as 2004 when Hayden was a school resource officer at Wren High School
