A former "Special Needs" assistant at an Anderson County elementary school is under arrest for the sexual assault of a child. Marcus Fulton Simmons is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. The arrest warrant says the victim was between three and eleven years old. One other police source says the child was six.
Simmons is accused of "forcibly fondling" the youngster at New Prospect Elementary School. A District 5 spokesperson says he had been fired earlier this week.
