A Cherokee County man will spend the next two decades behind bars after a shooting two years ago. 44 year old, Timmy Lee Douglas of Gaffney pleaded guilty Monday to charges of attempted murder and a weapons violation.
The charges stem from an incident in August of 2021, in which court records show Douglas shot a man that was in a relationship with his ex-girlfriend. Investigators say Douglas waited on the victim at his ex-girlfriend's house and shot the victim, who suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital.
Douglas was sentenced to 20 years in prison. His prior criminal history includes convictions on drug charges, domestic violence and weapons violations.
