City of Gaffney Police shut down the Gaffney Smoke Shop on Floyd Baker Blvd Wednesday, January 7, 2026, after they determined the business was operating without a valid license.

While Officers were inside, Police say "suspected illegal narcotics were observed in plain view."

That led to a search warrant, which turned up a large amount of marijuana, along with cash — some of it counterfeit — and packaging materials consistent with the distribution of illegal narcotics.

As a result, the un-named business attendant was arrested for operating a business without a license and additionally charged with narcotics-related offenses.

The investigation remains ongoing.
