A grandson faces trial for the double murder that shocked an Oconee County community January 15, 2026.
In a January 24, 2026 morning news conference, Sheriff Mike Crenshaw disclosed the suspect's arrest for the brutal slayings of 76 year old Larry Moore and his 75 year old wife, Sandra.
A worried relative unable to contact the couple had gone to their home near Westminster on January 15th and, as Sheriff Crenshaw says, made the horrific discovery.
19 year old, Levi Kevin Jones, the grandson of the Moore's, was arrested at his apartment late Friday night, January 23.2026, and faces arraignment on two counts of murder before a State Court judge later this week.
The sheriff says Jones is also charged with possession of a weapon in a violent crime, and that more could be added as the investigation continues.

19 year old Levi Kevin Jones, of Cobb Bridge Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:51pm yesterday (1/23/26) evening. Jones is a grandson of the victims. Jones has also been charged with two counts of Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime. The arrest warrants were obtained in relation to the deaths of Larry and Sandra Moore last week.
Jones was taken into custody during a Warrants Service Friday evening by Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Bureau and a Deputy assigned to the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement Team. At this time, Jones remains in jail pending a bond hearing. On Thursday evening, January 15th, the Sheriff’s Office and the Oconee County Coroner’s Office began a death investigation after the bodies Mr. and Mrs. Moore were discovered inside of a home on Cromer Moore Road near Westminster by a family member.
Investigators began the process of gathering evidence in relation to the homicide. Investigators have received assistance in processing evidence from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. Investigators have also had consultations with the 10th Circuit Solicitors Office and have met with family members to keep them apprised of the investigation. According to the arrest warrants, Jones stabbed Mr. Moore multiple times in the torso and neck and strangled Mrs. Moore, cutting off her airway and blood flow. Jones was also armed with a knife during the commission of the crime.
