A Greenville Attorney lands himself in jail, charged with attempted murder, after an argument with his mother and her lover.

Greenville Police Department records say 49 year old Robert Ryan Breckenridge was arrested Monday after Officers were called to his Mothers home, the night before, for assault with a firearm.

The Attorney got into an argument with his mother, prompting a man involved with her to come over.  Reports say Breckenridge had a gun and shot into the air then fought the man, hurting him.

He also made statements about harming his mother and the man.

Breckenridge is charged with attempted murder, assault and battery, kidnapping, possession and discharging a firearm within city limits. He's being held in the Greenville County Detention Center on no bond.

Breckenridge was admitted to the bar in 2001 according to the South Carolina Bar Association website.
